Just a few random thoughts and pictures

Fancy a costume or two?

Mu apologies for the very late post today. I blame hubby, lol.  We decided to go out for lunch, and got kind of sidetracked and ended up staying out a little longer than originally planned…It seems the RSC (Royal Shakespeare Company) are having a clear out of some of their older costumes, so if you can get to Stratford-upon-Avon on Saturday 12 February between 10am-5pm.

“Amongst the items for sales are soldiers’ tabards and chain-mail from the RSC’s 1984 production of Henry V (with Kenneth Branagh) and later seen in Mel Gibson’s film Braveheart, a light blue 18th century waistcoat worn by Charles Dance in As You Like It, a wine velvet regency cutaway coat worn by Sir Ben Kingsley, a selection of shirts worn by Sir Ian McKellen in The Seagulland his over-robe from King Lear and numerous items worn by David Tennant (including his understudy costume from the 2008 production of Love’s Labour’s Lost). “

The full article, which includes contact information, and full location details etc can be found over at the RSC’s website here.

Today’s picture is probably one you’re already familiar with, but…a friend of mine over at livejournal likes messing with pictures and asked for some DT pics to mess with. I sent her one of my favs and she tweaked it and now it looks like this…

  1. Sounds like you and the hubby had a good day!

That would be an amazing opportunity! I mean, not just for anything DT-related, but for items that are part of the ongoing history of the RSC! I think anyone who has ever had even the slightest dream of “treading the boards” would consider the Royal Shakespeare Company to be the ultimate experience!

Oh, and love the pic! 😀

    • yes I thought that too, I’d love to go get something and not just one of the DT pieces. As you say it’s an amazing opportunity.

As for the pic, I liked it so much I made a new icon for lj, lol.
