Don’t Let Cancer Have The Last Word…

As some of you will already know, David Tennant, along with a number of other famous faces, has offered his support as an ambassador for AICR (Association for International Cancer Research).

I too support this charity and have for years, even before so many famous faces added their names in support. I feel they do a lot of very good work so I wanted to share some information about the charity with you all. There’s also a clip below of David’s message to everyone about one of their initiatives, so please read on

AICR is an international, non-profit organisation that raises funds for cancer research around the world. As they are not tied to any one country or organisation, they are therefore free to use the funds they raise to support the most promising research at any given time.

They also do lots of work promoting awareness of cancer around the world, along with offering a variety of information through their website relating to many different kinds of cancer. This includes information about symptoms, risk factors, screening and treatment options which may help.

One of the projects that David in particular has lent his support to is the idea to create a video archive of memories of those lost to cancer. A number of celebrities, and ordinary people like you and me, have already added videos of remembrance for friends or family members.

You can see these messages at the AICR channel on YouTube, and can upload your own too if you wish, any video is acceptable, even if it’s a not so great one taken on your old mobile phone. So why not add your video today HERE.

And for more information about AICR, the fund raising they do, and the research they support, please visit their website.

Thank you all for taking the time to read this.

  1. That’s great, well done!

I’m gonna leave my own tributes, soon, to my Granny and Nana.

  2. Thanks whogal.

I’ve been lucky and not lost anyone close to me through cancer so far, but I do know others who have and saw how much it affected them.

Any little thing we can do to help promote organisations like this is always worthwhile in my view.

  3. Hi Dev,

Many thanks for spreading the word about our “Don’t Let Cancer Have the Last Word” campaign. New videos continue to be added so it would be great to get some from your readers.

    Thanks again,
